Time to play Catch Up!

I am not doing good with this, again.  I need to get back at least once a month posting.  That was my goal a while back and I think its a good one.  At least I still take a ton of pictures and my camera can tell me our story.

Thanksgiving!  We had a wonderful meal at our house with my dad, Lynn, Steve and us.  Of course there was turkey drama but we had a good time.  Lucas then stayed with Nana that night (new tradition) and Jim and I went black friday shopping.  We did good and pretty much finished shopping all in one night!

Saturday was Thanksgiving with Lynns Family.  There was a house full and everyone had a great time!

Even Murphy had a great time!

Lucas was our light man.  We had lights everywhere!!!

Jim, Jason, Andrew and I decided to make a last minute trip to Catlanta to watch the CATS play!  We had a special friend go with us too.  Nick had a ton of fun too!

Christmas!  Every day Lucas get more and more into things.  I know I said last year that it was the best Christmas ever but WOW this year he was so excited and so much fun.

Christmas Eve service was amazing and we spent time with family and friends.  After we got home we opened our 1 gift from under the tree (jammies) and all changed into them.  Lucas also has another special treat to open.  Charlie Browns Christmas Movie.

As we were outside putting Reindeer food on the front yard to make sure Santa came Lucas heard jingle bells.  He got this shocked face and told me we had to run inside and go to bed.  Santa was coming.  He found Jim inside to tell him about it and couldn't even get the words out he was so excited.  He went straight to bed and made us promise we were going to bed too.

Jim continued our tradition of a movie and then cookies (Don't tell Santa) and then off to bed.  We woke up to this.........

We had a wonderful Christmas with everyone!

New Years was fun too!  Lucas has his own party this year!  Us adults were all at John T's and Caras and the kids were at Brent and Boos with Anna.  He did great and had a wonderful time!  Jim and I were worried but he does things on his own now.  yikes.  When did he grow up?

Now we are getting ready for Valentines but I will save that for another post.  Hopefully it won't be next Christmas when I get to it!

Meet Murphy Gaunce

Murphy Lou Vaughn Gaunce
August 30, 2012

We have been lost since Carla's passing in June.  Daisie has been lost, Lucas still asks for her, Jim and I still catch ourselves calling for her.  She is the best friend we ever could have had and we will always cherish her.

Now with Murphy we are retraining a puppy, expecting way too much too soon, and she has big paws to fill.  I hate to say that but she does.  Murphy has been great, she has asked to go out a couple of times, is getting used to the eating three times a day and sleeping in a crate.

We picked Lucas up with her in the car and let him pick her name and now it fits perfectly.  He was so excited.  He absolutely loves her.  It will be so awesome to watch them grow up together.

Daisie on the other hand is a little leary.  Me.......well she is trying to chew on my computer as I type.  Since my office has moved home I get to be the one home with Miss Murphy.  All is good except she loves to chew on my feet as I work.  I love it though.

Welcome home Murphy!

Camera Dump

With the business and life happening I have slacked on the blogging yet again.  I decided the best way to catch up is to dump all of my pictures from my camera and phone and then update!  It helps to remember everything too.

So we will start with Pumpkins.  Oh my.  Pumpkins are a hit in the Gaunce family.  Over the entire month of October we had at least 8 pumpkins at one time.  Once the carving started of course some had to be thrown out but we ended up with 13 total.  A bit much but a ton of fun for Lucas and Jimmy.

Luckily we still have a few of the pumpkins that have made it this long and we still get to see them.  Next is Christmas lights.  Whoa.  I am not sure I can handle that :)

Football Season!

Our beloved football team has seen better days but we still meet up with great friends to tailgate.  We have a wonderful group of friends that we get to hang out with even though the football is not the best.

Circus Time!

We took Lucas to the Circus for the first time and he had a blast! His favorite were the elephants and the tigers.  I think he liked the lights and music.  He was the best boy ever, clapping, cheering and not getting scared of anything.  He is the sweetest.

Every day is a great day with this little man!  He has all of these cute things that he says and does and I wish I could keep him this size all of the time.  He is so precious and so good.  They are thinking about moving him up one more class at school already, he says he is going to get big enough that his head will hit the ceiling one day, he says he wants to grow up and be a dad with a family and a beard.

He loves hanging out at the shop and "working" with us.

Oh he is growing too fast!!!!

Lake Time!

We have always enjoyed packing up the family and heading to the lake for a day.  So when there was a week of down time with work we packed up and enjoyed the lake!

We spoiled ourselves with a new to us boat!  A wonderful couple from Nicholasville had this for sale at such a deal we couldn't pass it up!

We took the family out on a Saturday.  Lucas, Jim, Daisie and I enjoyed floating, swimming and driving around the lake!

The following Tuesday was our 8 year anniversary so we decided to go to the same cabin as last year.  It was so much fun (minus the major cut on my leg)

Labor day weekend was Family Weekend at Rough River Lake.  Just like last year we had a blast!  Saturday the weather was awesome and then the rain came in.  No problem though since there was a ton of food, friends, and toys!

And yes all of this took place during 13 days in August!  We had a great time and it was definately needed to rest up for an eventful September!!!
