Anniversary Weekend - Gaunce Style

We celebrated seven years of wedded bliss this past weekend and we decided to stay away from the hospital this year :)  Last year my appendix was acting funny and I didn't feel good the entire trip to Gatlinburg and two days later, WHAM!  Emergency surgery for me!

This year we decided just the adults were going, so we packed Lucas up and he stayed with Nana.  His second favorite place in the WORLD!  Jim and I headed to Burnside, KY and stayed at Cumberland Cove Cottages.  I have to say it was AWESOME!  The cabins were adorable, just perfect for us, the people were awesome, the weather was amazing and all of Jims cooking was even better.  We spent three days on the lake and it was so relaxing.  Just what we needed.
Perfect just for us!

It had indoor plumbing, air conditioning, electric, a full kitchen, and a real bed.  All of the essentials for this gal to camp!

It was a short walk to our private dock!  That was nice.  We were able to get right on the lake!  Neither of us had been to that part of Cumberland before so it was nice to ride around and see the lake at a different point. There were tons of private docks (none around Alligator where we normally are), bridges to go under, a power plant and tons of places to swim!
Our walk down

relaxing

Jim even got to fish!

We grilled every meal (ran to Kroger after getting here on Friday) so that was nice.  We were able to follow the Bristol race too!  We also decided that we HAVE to come back.  So we talking about planning trips with the family, with our friends, with our family and friends.  We also decided we HAVE to get a bigger boat.  Maybe we can work that out next year.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Here's to 7 amazing years (We don't feel like it has been that long at all) and all that is ahead of us!  I love you Jimmy Gaunce!

The next couple of weeks............

It seems like every weekend has been slammed full of family fun.  We are loving every minute of it.  Now the dogs and Jack the cat, not so much.  Poor things have had a lot of time at the house to themselves recently.  After being out of town the next weekend we stuck around the house cleaning and of course, Chuck E. Cheese. Sunday we went to the Newport Aquarium.  We were on a hunt for Nemo and Dories.  Lucas was so good.  They don't allow strollers though, we didn't know that!
Playing in the backyard

Popsicles!

The following weekend we woke up early and Saturday and decided to head to the lake.  Fun.  The three of us had a great time.  Lucas even fell asleep during the ride.  How I am not sure!

Totally asleep.........

After the day at the lake we headed over to a dinner party and hung out with adults!  It was needed and tons of fun.  We had a wonderful time with really good friends and planned our labor day weekend lake trip too!

Thats all for today.  The anniversary trip to the lake post will be for tomorrow....more pictures to come!

Family weekend in Wisconsin (Aug 5th-7th)

We spent the first weekend in August checking out Wisconsin!  We were able to see Dad's new house for the first time and its AWESOME!  We always jam pack our Wisconsin trips as there seems to never be enough time to get in all of the stuff we want to do!  We did hang out with dad for a day and work a bit :)

Then we headed to the lake!  We had tons of fun playing in the water and with our new drill!!

We were also able to visit with the Eve's.  Tons of fun and a great meal there!  We missed out on Dan and Karrie so hopefully soon we will make it that way!

Totally bad at this blogging thing.............

I did start in January and figured I would post a couple of times a month.  Well I have gone over a month now and nothing!  Its not that I haven't had time, well that's a lot of it, but I just don't remember.  So sorry for the long and/or multiple posts today but my goal for the day.....update for this last month!!!

oh lunch is here......this can wait :)
