yes, there is a pencil in my hair.........

Sometimes this girls gotta do what I have to do.  I didn't have a hair band so I improvised.  Why, because I am lazy and forgetful.  I forgot to put one around my wrist on the way out of the door today, I switched purses after vacation and never put on in there, I was forgetful another day and used up the stash I had in my desk at work, and to top it all off I don't want to walk to my car and get one off of the turning signal!  I have hair bands everywhere for this purpose, in case I forget but today I am just lazy so I twisted and put up my hair with a pencil.  I think it looks fine, people at work keep telling me I have a pencil in my hair like they have never seen it before.

This got me thinking about all of the times that I do put pens in my ponytail.  I have found that this is the best place in a hurry to stick a pen when I need a place to stash it.  My problem is I forget that I did it and then I have a few in there.

Just thought I would share my random though of the day!

back to life............back to reality

Hey Ya'll!  We're BACK!  Oh the trip was amazing.  So I will start with pictures.
It was cloudy in Jacksonville but still warmer than home!

Our stateroom and fluffy animals :)

Having Fun!
We all survived the trip.  Us leaving Lucas with Nana, the furbabies and Uncle Jason and us being the first time parents away.  I think we told everyone that would listen about Lucas while on the boat!  There were tons of shows, activities and other things to stay busy while at sea and at port.  The food was amazing (like everyone said) and the Chocolate Melting Cake is to die for!!!  I must learn how to make that!  I loved the shopping and drinks in Freeport, Bahamas!  Too bad with a cruise they didn't "stamp" my passport.  Thats totally a thing of the past I think.  They didn't "stamp" us in the Dominican either.  They scan them now.  I want the STAMP!

I also enjoyed being at home with my boys last week.  I was able to clean the house, cook, and be mom for a while.  That was nice!

Other exciting news is that Mr. Lucas got into his school!  He starts tomorrow.  I will totally have pictures from the first day.  I am THAT mom!  Its the same school his cousins attended and they are super nice!  I am sure I will have more to share on that soon.  Now onto a new place with new kids, parents, teachers, germs.....Tonight we have to pack his things (blanket, sheet, diapers, etc) and lug it all into class tomorrow.  This will be interesting.  Jimmy and I both plan on being there for drop off, I am crossing my fingers it goes well.

Now I am back to making my own bed, cleaning up after myself, cooking and working..........Oh the countdown to the next vacation can begin NOW!

Proud Day to be a Packer Fan!

Green Bay Packers are the 2011 Super Bowl Champions!!!!!

Another accomplishment for the weekend......Lucas spent the night at Nanas!  The three of us survived the night and I think have made progress in the letting go process.  We better since we leave in two days!  Oh did I mention that we are going on a cruise?

Here is where we are at again,  Lucas went in his room the other night while I was cooking dinner and found his sling.  He then brought it to me and insisted on using it.  "Up Momma" is what I heard over and over so of course I gave in as this was not a battle I wanted to fight and this is what happened............
at least I was hands free to cook!

So after carrying him around for the 20 minutes it took for me to finish dinner, I was exhausted and had to come up with a plan to get him out of it and into his high chair.  That trick was mac and cheese!  (I then hid the sling so we wouldn't have to repeat this that night)

We also had a great time at Monkey Joe's again but this time Bryce came!!!

Our Superbowl party was AWESOME!  Thanks for having us over Donovans!  It was also great to be able to hang out with friends and not chase a toddler.  Something this momma was looking forward too and terrified of but at least it all worked out.

Now onto this packing stuff....time to get laundry done and the house cleaned for the furbaby sitter!  Bahamas here we come!!!

me and my boys....

I love hanging out with my boys.  They are so much fun :)  They make me laugh, they make me cry and definitely keep me on my toes.

We started playing scrabble and yahtzee after Lucas goes to bed and this has caused us to become addicted and very competitive in a good way.  I can usually sweep him at yahtzee but he usually beats me BIG time with scrabble.  I have to announce that I only lost by 20 points the other night.  This is amazing for me.  In time I WILL BEAT HIM!

While we were playing the other night we gave Lucas dice to play with too.  He would play with his two while we were playing with the 5 for yahtzee.  We would get excited each time he rolled/threw them but he was having a great time.  He even kept score (scribbles with a crayon on a scorecard)  We all had a blast.  I can't wait until he can really play with us for real!!!!  It will be so much fun!

We also attempted an ice cream cone for the first time the other night.

he preferred a spoon

Heres another couple of pictures of my boys having fun.....

Five more days until we are cruising...........................

I'm pretty impressed with myself........

I told myself that I wanted to at least update with a picture or write about some of our craziness at least once a week and here we have made it through January and I posted 8 times!  Go me!

First congrats to my friend and her family (you know who you are :))  you amaze me.  Bringing twins into this world on Friday!!!!  I wish you and your family the best with your new additions and I can't wait to get my hands on them!!!!!

Another reason I am impressed with myself is that I have not even made ONE list yet for our trip.  This usually drives me and my hubby CRAZY with the revisions, the trying on complete outfits months before our trip, etc.  Yes the tickets are printed, we are preregistered, luggage tags are printed (I can print more if needed), I read all the rules on cruising, asked around for tips on cruising, thought about the things that I may need (haven't written them down though), scheduled my hair appointment, planned the sitters for Lucas and the furbabies, asked Jim numerous times if he needed anything, planned out the menu and grocery shopped to get us until we leave, but still no lists.  No what to pack list, things I need to complete or pick up before we leave, no what to pack for Lucas at nanas, nothing.  This is usually something that I do immediately upon booking of a vacation.  Looking back I didn't do this for our anniversary trip to Gatlinburg either......I guess becoming a mom made me not as specific on things :)  No I know the lists are coming.....
