Lucas is a Butterfly

Oh my, Lucas is hilarious.  The other day we were on our way to school (daycare) and I had to run by the bank.  Well two banks, our personal and then the business one.  Yes I plan on combining them but I have been a bit tad busy.  Thats a winter project.  Back to the bank.  We went by our personal bank and of course Lucas thinks the only reason we go there is to get suckers.  Well he didn't get one.  So after we left he asked where the sucker was.  I told him that the bank must have run out.  He said well "you got to get a new bank mom"  WHAT?!  We then made it to the other bank and yes he got his sucker.

And another one............We were on his way home from school and decided to pick up a pizza for dinner.  Since we were stuck at a light, my jeep started to over heat.  So I decided to pull over in the shade for a bit to let it cool down and call Jim.  Lucas said "It's okay mom, just call Mater, he's a tow truck."

Now to the title.   The director at school asked if we would be okay with Lucas moving up from the Wiggle Worms to the Butterfly room in August.  Since most of his class was going we agreed.  Well Lucas has been ready.  He also overheard Jim and I talking because now when asked he says, "Momma wants to keep me little but I want to be a butterfly."

He also loves to help around the house.  He is always telling me that he will do it a "Man needs to do it".  I am not allowed to put flowers in vases, take the garbage out, carry in bags, open doors, feed Daisie, help him in the bathroom, help him get dressed, help him shower, etc.  He is big, a man and needs privacy.  He is 3!  I am not ready for this.

A few of the things that he is into and loves right now.  Steak!  You ask him what he wants for dinner and he says steak and broccoli.  He also really loves projects.  He has always helped Jimmy but he is always wanting to work on things or do crafty things (thats my boy)  My dads tool set that was given to him for Easter has been extremely helpful since Lucas enjoys taking doorknobs and drawer pulls off and I always need tools inside.  Today I went through his things to get his screwdriver and measuring tape.  Really, I borrow these things from my 3 year old.

I promise to keep up with updates and Lucas comments.  I think we are in for it with this Butterfly room.

Summer update

Whoa!  It is August already!  We have been so busy with Special, moving locations, planning events, setting up and breaking down events, swim class, trips to the pool, a couple of trips to the lake, oh my.  So much to share.

We lost Carla at the end of June and that has been hard on all three of us.  She was the greatest most loyal dog I have ever met.  All she wanted in life was to amke us happy.  She was always there and listened to every story any of us had to share.  We will never have another animal like her.  Carlas story started when Jim was at work delivering trim in Nicholasville.  For two different deliveries this dog was there and no one knew where she lived.  So of course Jim took her home.  She went to the bathroom in the truck because she had never been in a truck before but that was okay, he could clean it.  He came to UK and called me with an emergency to come out of class.  I rushed out to find him in the delivery truck with Carla.  We decided to keep her.  One week later she was in the vets office with Parvo.  After a week there, Dr. Montgomery called and said we had to come and get her.  She wouldn't stop crying and barking.  She came home, got healthy and was the best dog ever.  She loved going to the lake to swim well float, loved hanging out with us, playing the backyard and catching random critters in the backyard.  My favorite was a squirrel for Mothers Day.  We were looking forward to here working with us at the warehouse, sitting with me in my office here at home, sleeping with Lucas in his big boy bed and making many more trips to the lake.

June was also full of fun.  We made our annual guys and girls weekend trips to the lake but we do not share that :)  What happens on guys/girls weekend stays at the lake.  :)  :)  Family weekend for fathers day was probably the best.  Hanging out with friends and family always puts a smile on my face.

July brought us to swim class.  Well that is with swiming with friends for the 4th and so much more.

Last weekend we took Daisie to the lake.  Well Lucas and Daisie!  We all had a ton of fun swimming, fishing, sunning.......oh and sleeping for Daisie!

What a summer we have had so far.  I can't wait.  We have tons of fun planned up to football season and more!!!!!!!

next post will be a I Do / Special update.....................  can also be seen at kimdoesevents.blogspot.com
